1) We will present another evening for sharing thoughts and feelings on the current Middle East crisis at Rebecca’s on Wednesday, July 26th. The last one was very much appreciated by those who were able to attend so we are doing it again. You are welcome whether or not you were at the earlier one.

There are two community events planned for next week in relation to the Middle East Crisis.
Brit Tzedek will have no official presence at either.

2) Wednesday, July 26th noon at Pioneer Courthouse Square    Stand Against Terror. Stand with Israel.

We do not recommend making signs or engaging in other potentially controversial actions at this rally. We also suggest you meet up with other like-minded people at the statute of the man with the umbrella.

We have a few Brit Tzedek tee shirts available with two different messages on the back, either "Call to Bring the Settlers Home"(white) or a more generic Pursue Peace (grey). There is one medium and one large in each style. They will be on Rebecca’s back porch at 3306 SE 7th if you want to pick one up to wear to the rally. See her address above. 4) Excellent articles featuring Jewish groups opposing the Ros-Lehtinen bill (H.R. 4681), with mentions of Brit Tzedek.

Brit Tzedek has been opposing the bill because we believe it fails to serve the long-term interests of either Israel or the United States by forfeiting the US role in bringing Israelis and Palestinians back to the negotiating table. By limiting the US's flexibility in proactively developing appropriate policies with respect to the recently constituted Palestinian Authority and by punitively limiting critical assistance to the Palestinian people, H.R. 4681 weakens moderate Palestinians and risks further strengthening extremists.
