Mick Mulcrone, Ph.D. At the University of Portland, Journalism instructor Michael Mulcrone, Ph.D.  is an
Associate Professor in Communication StudiesDr. Mulcrone teaches beginning and advanced journalism courses. His research interests include communication law and
the history of journalism.  He will discuss:
"Cliches and closed doors: How organized labor is treated in the corporate mass media."

will share tumultuous times and hard-won truths.  He is the author of

Yamhill Counties Labor Council. He is a Democrat and former president of Local 8378.  He retired from Cascade 
Steel and remains active in the Oregon labor political arena.  He was a delegate at the  AFL-CIO Oregon convention. 
 He describes the convention as upbeat, despite the challenges facing organized labor.  "Labor will rise again; it always
does," Sullivan said  "This organization still has clout." 
 
Ann Samuelson is seeking justice from the Oregon state
legislature  and has worked with former Senator Joan Dukes of Astoria. 
Rob Wagner (Director of Government Relations and Political and Legislative affairs for AFT-Oregon)  will join with us
to discuss Oregon politics, labor unions, and our listeners' concern
