'Families for the Fallen' may be onto something,
they lost a son, and
know that "staying
the course" is not a real option.
Instead they want the same
thing the rest of American and Iraq wants. A phased withdrawal beginning
soon. It is only common sense.

Paul Schroeder and Rosemary Palmer ...
co-founded "Families of the Fallen for Change," a nonpartisan group calling
for gradual withdrawal of troops from Iraq. "The president's strategy is no
strategy — it's open-ended — and we can't support that one bit," Schroeder
said. "But an immediate withdrawal poses real dangers for our troops and
regional stability."
The couple is bringing their message to Dayton this weekend, including a
speech at 7 p.m. tonight at Aldersgate United Methodist Church at 5464 Old
Troy Pike in Huber Heights. Coincidentally, Schroeder appears a short time
earlier on a taped segment of the CBS Evening News.
The couple says their proposal for ending the war is unique because it's
bipartisan and goes beyond purely military solutions. In a nutshell, they're
calling for the United States to announce its intention to withdraw, as well
as to disavow any interest in permanent military bases in Iraq. Then the
United Nations or the League of Arab States could be brought in as an
international broker for negotiations between coalition forces and all Iraqi
parties with the exception of al-Qaida. http://www.fofchange.org/.)
