Send Wal-Mart back to School! The Portland Alliance
|
The current administration
would prefer to have you believe that unions are powerless and on the
wane. Unions are alive, well, and vital resources for protecting American
workers. We are at a very difficult time in America. The corporate
shills who have seized power want to deprive us of our a voice so that we
cannot speak truth to power. Our solidarity will allow us to endure,
survive, and prevail. Monday night, August 29 at 6pm, we can
discuss orchestrated attacks on unions, the
Wal-Mart boycott, the
Working Families Coalition, and
the reorganization of the AFL-CIO.
We may also discuss how unions are adapting to the new
globally-interconnected workplace and the disappearance of blue collar
jobs. We must unionize these new service positions to avoid hi-tech
sweatshops where call are monitored and keystrokes recorded. Unions
must invest in both communities and the political arena. We want
good jobs, health care, equitable pay, pensions, and a voice in the
workplace. Stand up for America! Join us August 29th, 2005!
