The International Solidarity Movement and the family of Rachel Corrie have both issued statements calling for justice and accountability in the cases of Tristan Anderson and Rachel Corrie, as well as for all Palestinian victims of Israeli military violence including those killed or injured in Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip.

Occupation End Notes is the US Campaign bi-monthly newsletter, designed as a tool for activists. For this newsletter to be successful, we need your participation. Use us to promote events, give feedback on recent actions, recommend resources, or just learn from other activists in the movement. If you or your organization are planning an event aimed at ending the occupation, or you have information for the Newsletter, please contact the US Campaign at intern@endtheoccupation.org.  The US Campaign aims to change U.S. policies that sustain Israel's 41-year occupation of the Palestinian West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem, and that deny equal rights for all.

US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation

It is understandable why www.Democracyinaction.org's ad was censored.  The ad misstates facts
on the ground and ignores reality.  It is one-sided.  This is counterproductive.

Many are entirely sympathetic with concerns about the Middle East, but too many are approaching the problem bass-ackwards...  Cutting off military aid to Israel would effectively eliminate
the state of Israel.  Only a fool would support such action.  Why appeal to fools?
This undercuts support for your organization instead of securing common ground.

Demanding that Israel's military be restrained from preemptive aggression is another matter.
Demanding an end to settlements, wall-building, land and resource seizure, home and crop
destruction, invasions, bombings, and assassinations are all matters of serious concern.
By focusing on irrelevancies and impossibilities ensconced in delusions... you cripple yourselves.

Unless you delink these ideas, your organization is doomed to tilting at windmills.
Calling for the impossible or boycotting a variety of companies only peripherally related
to the conflict is like spinning your wheels.  We need to get the White House
involved in restraining the people they have armed. This will take the cooperation
of the G-8.  These are the larger issues which must be addressed first, last, and
always if we seek peace.  The rest is commentary... or simple distraction.

Israel and her people must recognize the right of the Palestinian people to form a nation.
The Palestinian people must recognize the right of Israel and her people to exist.
It takes two to tango.  And we must keep our eyes on the prize.

The Iraqi and Palestinian occupations will require international intervention.
The occupation of the White House will still require direct political action from the precinct
to the streets.  We have made some progress in America, now it behooves us to end the
misuse of the US military to enforce wrong-headed and counterproductive occupations.

Check Out Our Censored Gaza Ad on
Daily Kos, Wonkette, and Other Blogs

Earlier this month, we showed you our 30-second commercial on the U.S. role in Israel's war on the occupied Gaza Strip.

We had hoped to air this commercial on national satellite provider DIRECTV, which after extensive discussions with us
refused to accept our ad.

DIRECTV's act of censorship then became a media story, with Democracy Now! and the Jewish Telegraphic Agency reporting on the incident.

Well, we were determined not to let this act of censorship prevent us from getting our message out there.  So we decided to take our ad to the blogosphere.

Starting today, you can visit popular blogs such as Daily Kos, Wonkette, The Smirking Chimp, The Washington Monthly, Talk Left,
and a dozen others to check out our advertising campaign

Thanks to the generous support of Cultures of Resistance, we were able to produce this commercial and advertise it to an estimated 10 million blog readers.

TAKE ACTION

1. Help Us Spread the Word.  Do you have a blog, social networking site, or website?  If so, then please consider reposting our ad above and linking it to this page on our website.

2. Tell All Your Friends to Watch Our Commercial.
Watch the commercial on-line by clicking here.

3. Contact President Obama about His Budget Request for Military Aid to Israel Our ad campaign is designed not only to educate people about the U.S. role in enabling Israel's war on and siege of the occupied Gaza Strip; it is also designed to get people to take action
to change our country's policy toward Palestine/Israel to support human rights, international law, and equality.

On February 24, President Obama is scheduled to deliver his FY2010 budget "blueprint" to Congress, which is expected to contain $2.775 billion in military aid for Israel Contact the President today and urge him to hold Israel accountable for its misuse of U.S. weapons instead of increasing arms transfers.

Strutting Fascism And Swaggering Militarism

By Gaither Stewart       11 June, 2008    www.Countercurrents.org

“We work for the moral and traditional
values which Socialists neglect and despise….”
Benito Mussolini

(Rome) It’s their strutting. That detestable image of the strutting that links them, the strutting and prancing Fascists and their swaggering and parading military cousins, up front for their conveniently concealed corporatist controllers. A strutting and swaggering couple they are, Fascism and the entrenched class of war. Their distorted visions of gallantry and nation come so naturally to both. The spick and span generals, employers of mercenaries and killers, chin in, chest out, and their majors and their colonels (especially the generals in the offices and the majors in the tents), thick chests covered with ribbons and medals and rows of multicolored decorations—awarded for killing. And the political Fascists! Defiant chins thrust forward, hard fists clinched, swaggering and prancing and strutting across the stages of piazzas nations and continents—in support of the killing.

For God’s sakes let’s don’t waste time on the propaganda of “supporting our troops over there!” Or defense of America’s values! Or the future of our children! Or the war on terrorism! Let’s don’t waste words on that. As if in their strutting and blustering they had a monopoly on care for our sons! Let the generals and the industrial-military complex and our new administration (hopefully) support our boys “over there” in the only way that really counts—by bringing them home.
