We must consider what tactics and methods might be most effective.

There is an incredible degree of frustration among Democrats.
We have witnessed the hijacking of the Republican party by a
dangerous group of amoral extremists.  They have implemented
corporate policies which contradict the best interests of America
and her allies.  It is past time for responsible Republicans, vigilant
Democrats, and Independents with integrity to respond.

But rather than spending our time on self-defeating critiques of the
Democratic party flaws, we must find a nonpartisan common ground. 
The Republican extreme spin machine is delighted to hear Democrats
attack their own party.  Third-party enthusiasts, progressive though
they may be, fall right into their trap.

In the political reality we inhabit, it will not be possible 
to empower a separate coalition of responsible Democrats and 
Republicans to defeat the ruthless extremists at the helm.
Third-party efforts at this time are unfeasible and could ultimately 
prove counterproductive this fall.  We don't have time, and there 
is too much at stake.  

But unions, PTAs, churches, nonprofits, foundations,  educational 
institutions, neighborhood groups, liberals, conservatives, and other 
concerned Americans need the Democratic party... wounded though
it may be.  We must rally and join forces to unseat the radicals who 
have taken over our government.  

Democrats and their allies, in these difficult times, must remember 
who we are as a people, and get back to their roots.  The winning
cards this fall will be grass roots populism, freedom, justice, equity,
fair play, and traditional American values.

We can win this fight, but not by fighting among ourselves.  We must 
build a larger tent and speak truth to power until truth prevails.
