Bill Sizemore Goes To Jail:
December 1st, 2008  At 11:30 Monday morning,
Bill Sizemore was led to jail by Multnomah County
sheriff's deputies after being ruled in contempt of court.
The latest finding of contempt stems from a 2002 lawsuit in which a jury and the court found Sizemore's organizations engaged in fraud, forgery, and racketeering. (That ruling was upheld in July by the Oregon Supreme Court.) The current contempt order revolved around Sizemore's innumerable violations of the original injunction that accompanied a jury verdict finding Mr. Sizemore and his organizations conspired to violate Oregon law.

Dorothy Eck, pioneer for Montana women, still trying to change the world
~~~She grew up in an era when faculty wives were expected to attend teas and formal dances - not assault the power structure and invade its smoke-filled rooms.
    SEAN SPERRY/CHRONICLE Politics “is a matter of trying to persuade people; I've always been good at that," Dorothy Eck said while sitting on the deck at her home. Eck has spent more than 40 years in public life and is still a champion for her causes. Yet Dorothy Eck did just that, in her calm but determined way.
The former stay-at-home mom challenged the good ol' boy world of Montana politics. As state president of the League of Women Voters, she became one of the pioneers for women in state politics. More than that, she helped bring about profound changes in government that touch the lives of ordinary Montanans to this day.
“I think I've always had the feeling, if something works in a way that doesn't seem right, that you've an obligation to try to change things,” Eck said.
The right to organize is among the most fundamental of workplace human rights. It is the workplace expression of freedom of association.  Employees are entitled to work collectively on common issues.  This tool is critical for securing other workplace rights.
Here is a big part of the problem...   While Republicans Remain Deeply Distrustful of News Media
(as well they should)   Democrats, have a great deal more trust in the media's accuracy.
(It is wake-up time for Democrats....if you "trust" the corporate media, you miss most of the story.)
Overall, less than half of Americans, regardless of partisanship, have a great deal or a fair amount of
trust in the mass media. (A good trend, since they cannot be trusted)  Over three-quarters of Republicans, and nearly half of all Americans, perceive the media as too liberal. (The Rovian spin machine is effective.) Fewer than one in five say the media are too conservative.  (Way too effective...)
News reports revealed on Tuesday that Attorney General Alberto Gonzales lied to
The Tragic End
of the Rule of Law:
October 18, 2006
06/02/07
A packed court and our cowardly congress have betrayed the American people.
We must restore constitutional mandates and the rule of law. Those who have abandoned their duties and principles need to be brought to justice.
Whatever it takes.
   Feckless surrender to the misuse of our troops in a corporate occupation and exploitation of Iraq is not acceptable and cannot stand. If neither congress nor the courts find the courage of their convictions, it may take principled military intervention to do some house-cleaning in Washington.
      Even if we must resort to Jeffersonian solutions,
it is essential that we restore the balance of power. Our reputation, credibility, and honor hang in that balance.
