Telling one side of the story is not the best way to get at the
truth....
Not all of Israel is composed of
zealots who have undermined her struggle
and not all of Hamas is composed of stereotypical violence. The real
story
is more complex.... Most of Israel does not approve of heavy-handed
violence and aggression, and most Palestinians see a two-state solution.
In
the same way, in a different
region, we cannot use a wide-brush with Republicans based on
the rude
behavior of extremists. Just because some of the Bush
administration has condoned torture, brutality, and situational
ethics, is
no reason to condemn the party itself. Responsible
conservatives need to take back the party from the mean extreme.
While some in Hamas are beyond the pale, others seek justice and
simply want the occupation to end so they
can go on with their lives. Fear-mongering and finger-pointing
are no solution in the Middle East or in America.
