1. We need editors
and writers for
the above pages, and
for other pages with a variety of themes… (see partial
listing below) if interested....Contact us !
(with or without
technical expertise...)
2. Web-Work We also have a variety of pages
on The Wordsmith Collection and
The International Peaceresource Center.
We maintain more than 4000
pages on five virtual servers…
These pages are
created in a variety of forms. We
are in the process of migrating these pages to a
"clean" server. The clean server includes Dreamweaver-based pages and interactive PHP
development.
We could use some web savvy techies to help
coordinate
and oversee this process. (Some revenue streams
could be shared)
3. Art Project…The Wordsmith Collection
has
a five-ton truck
we are in the process of outfitting as a
community bookmobile.
We have recently completed a 1200 dollar mechanical
rennovation
project. (still finding funding to pay the
bill) After this is
complete, in our next phase of this
work, we are repainting the truck
with murals. It will be
an exciting canvas! More than twenty foot
long and
a dozen feet high! Very exciting! We need artists
and/or a mechanic… Stephen McCandless, a local
artist will
assist with the creative process…

The
Wordsmith Collection,
Inc. &
ActiveResource.org will sponsor a meeting for
civic engagement! Why I am hosting this meeting:
This startup meeting for Action Without Borders /
Idealist.org is directly involved in
organizing for civic-engagement and social
interaction. We reach out so that ordinary people
can come together. We can help each other discover
how we can become more effective agents for change
in our neighborhoods, communities, schools,
and families.
Let's get active!
This meeting is for discovering new ways to become
engaged in our community.
Some may have specific projects in mind and others
may simply be interested in this opportunity to make
connections with others who are interested in
civic-engagement.
Many of us have been engaged in volunteering, public
service, and other projects which provide opportunities for community members of every
age. Most people want to help build a world where
everyone can live free and dignified lives.
Any person who wants to help another can do so
and no opportunities for action and collaboration
should be missed.
We can come closer to these goals by helping connect
people, ideas, and resources.
Making these essential connections is what this
meeting is all about. Everyone who comes will bring
their own agenda, projects, and concerns. Together,
we can think about creative
collaborations, consider urgent problems, or simply
talk about common issues and ideas.
Our agenda will include introductions, discussion,
ideas, outreach, goals, and think about how we can
keep in touch. Then we can think about how to make
these meeting grow and when to hold the next one!
(There will be snacks, scratch pads, pencils and possibilities for creative synthesis.

The
books at the left are recommended resources for those who want
to write effectively. They can supplement any secondary, college, or
graduate-level writing project. If you would like to obtain either
book,
click at left. The Writers Harbrace Handbook is a basic guide and
rulebook for writers. It has particularly useful resources on
rhetoric. Adventures in writing is designed as a practical guide for
the writing
process. The book is designed for people who want to improve their
writing, including students from non-English based learning environments.
